ADvoidance AD-blocker Privacy Policy

Information processed

To provide its ad-blocking functionality, ADvoidance may process:

• The hostname of the website currently open in the active browser tab.
• Website hostnames that the user chooses to whitelist.
• The extension’s enabled or disabled setting.
• Daily and total blocked-request counts.
• Network-request error events identified by Chrome as blocked by a client.
• Webpage elements necessary to apply cosmetic ad-hiding rules.

How information is used

This information is used only to block ads and trackers, apply the user's website-whitelist preferences, display the current website in the extension popup, hide advertising elements and calculate local blocked-request statistics.

Local storage

ADvoidance stores its enabled state, website whitelist and blocked-request counters locally on the user's device using Chrome extension storage. This information is not transmitted to the developer or to an external server.

Data sharing and sale

ADvoidance does not sell, rent or transfer user data to third parties. ADvoidance does not use user information for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending or any purpose unrelated to its ad-blocking functionality.

Remote code

ADvoidance does not download or execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly. All executable code and filtering rules are included in the installed extension package.

Data retention and deletion

Locally stored preferences and counters remain on the user's device until they are changed or reset by the user or the extension is uninstalled. Users can remove whitelisted websites through the extension and can remove the extension's locally stored data by uninstalling ADvoidance.

Security

ADvoidance minimizes the information it processes and keeps its preferences and statistics on the user's device. No browsing information handled by the extension is sent to the developer's servers.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when ADvoidance's functionality or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
